Objective Modeling of Configure to Order (CTO) Operations

In stead of ‘quality’, ‘time to market’ and ‘customer fulfillment’ have been the two main issues for business operations currently. To raise customer satisfaction, providing service with dynamic configurations (i.e. CTO) is a very powerful strategy on marketing. However, to handle CTO operations efficiently, information systems are required. This paper identifies the objectives of CTO operations to guide e-Business platform development. Business objectives, operational objectives, process requirements, and functional requirements for CTO operations are identified in sequence by Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. Objectives identification is the first step for constructing e-Business systems to manage CTO operations.
